FRHA Summer Educational Series: Rural Health Research: Opportunities for Collaboration

Session description: The Rural Health Research Group seeks to improve healthcare delivery to rural populations, and to contribute to achieving health equity of rural populations.  In this seminar, you will learn about the research process and hear about some of our research projects and their findings.  You will also learn about how our Research Group has collaborated with Rural Health Clinics and other rural providers and stakeholders throughout the U.S. in our research, and how you might become involved in our research.

Speaker: Judy Ortiz, Ph.D. is a Research Associate Professor with College of Health Professions and Sciences of the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Florida.  She currently serves as Director of the Rural Health Research Group at UCF, which is a multi-college team of faculty and students that focuses on research of rural health, health equity, and primary care.  Her previous work has included head of Health Administration programs at Webster University in Orlando, Florida, and positions in Administration and Marketing in primary care and managed care organizations.  She has published in the area of health care delivery systems and performance of Rural Health Clinics and other primary care organizations.
